Terms of Service
VSL-HIVE is a research and evidence-observation project. Its public website and automated publishing surfaces are not official emergency-warning services and do not replace primary government, scientific, civil-protection, or source authorities.
1. Public research service
VSL-HIVE provides public descriptions, research evidence, system-status information, and related public communications concerning distributed evidence observation, selective computation, durable evidence, and associated experiments.
2. Evidence and interpretation
A source update is evidence that a source changed. It is not, by itself, proof of an emergency, anomaly, prediction, or ground truth. Users should consult the original authoritative source and applicable official services when making safety-critical or consequential decisions.
3. Automated X publication
VSL-HIVE uses the X API as a downstream distribution channel for public information already represented by the HIVE LIVE interface. In the current bounded implementation, publication requires public_event=true and an unseen evidence_id; successful publications are recorded with a durable receipt. The X publisher does not independently query the originating scientific source, classify anomalies, or replace the originating authority.
4. No guaranteed availability
The website, research runtime, integrations, data feeds, and publication channels may be delayed, interrupted, changed, suspended, or unavailable. Vehicle Systems Lab does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, universal coverage, perfect detection, or publication of every source update.
5. Research status and claims
Labels such as LIVE, VALIDATED, PLANNED, and RESEARCH TARGET describe different evidence states. Planned or research-target capabilities must not be interpreted as currently deployed or validated capabilities.
6. Acceptable use
Users may inspect and reference public VSL-HIVE materials subject to any licenses or notices attached to particular repositories, datasets, publications, or artifacts. Users must not misrepresent VSL-HIVE outputs as official government alerts, tamper with public evidence, impersonate Vehicle Systems Lab, or attempt unauthorized access to non-public infrastructure or credentials.
7. Third-party services
VSL-HIVE may link to or interoperate with third-party services and authoritative sources, including X, GitHub, Zenodo, and scientific or civil data providers. Those services are governed by their own terms, policies, availability, and technical limits.
8. Changes
These Terms may be updated as the research system and public interfaces evolve. Material changes should be reflected by updating the effective date and the public version of this page.
